EXHIBITION OF PHOTOGRAPHY BY BOHUMÍR PROKŮPEK AT VRANOV CHATEAU

Following our tradition of recent years, at the beginning of the tourist season, we open the Podyjí NP Administration Visitor Centre in Čížov as well as the National Park Information Point at the Vranov Chateau, at the beginning of the tourist season.

We are able to utilise the gallery space on the courtyard (opposite the ticket office), where visitors can visit a new exhibition every year, and also obtain information (or receive printed materials) about the national park.

 This year´s exhibition, which was opened on the occasion of European Parks Day, is dedicated to a person whose photographic work and a part of his artistic spirit was closely linked to the landscape of Podyjí. This exhibition, called Bohumír Prokůpek – Podyjí (photographs from the years 1992 – 2008), is a selection of materials dating from many returns to Podyjí by one of our greatest landscape photographers, a teacher at the Department of Photography at the Prague School of Performing Arts (FAMU), as well as a reflection on the most creative period of this great photographer, who died recently. 

You can see the exhibition from 23-5-2009 until 30-9-2009 (May and June from 10.00 to 17.00 except Mondays, July and August from 10.00 to 18.00 except Mondays, September from 10.00 to 17.00 only Saturdays and Sundays). Entrance is free of charge.
