How should I proceed if I want to apply for permission to fell trees and bushes?
If you don’t know what to do and you don’t want to read these materials, call the Podyjí NP Administration on 515 282 249 or 777 985 382 and our officer Robert Stejskal will advise you how to proceed.
If you need permission for the felling you want to do (see the question – When is permission to fell not necessary?), you must first submit an application for permission to fell. After receiving the application, the nature protection body begins an administrative process. If it is necessary (complex cases) an on-site investigation will be called – in the presence of the applicant, the nature protection body, the local municipality and any other affected persons.
After collecting all of the necessary documents and assessing the functional and aesthetic significance of the trees and bushes, the nature protection body informs the participants in the process of its standpoint and gives them a certain timeframe in which they can comment on the standpoint. After this is done (and any comments by the participants are dealt with), the nature protection body issues a decision which either permits or forbids felling (or permits some trees or bushes to be felled but not others). If a permission to fell is issued the conditions for felling will be stated (or permits some trees or bushes to be felled but not others). If a permission to fell is issued the conditions for felling will be stated (the time when felling may be carried out – usually in the winter period from 15th October to 31st March, the extent and method of felling, what should be done with the wood mass, the location and a description of the replacement planting etc).
