Age class method
This is a method of forming a forest management plan (FMP), which is based upon a system of age classes and the normality of the forest. The age class method uses the so-called temporal arrangement of the forest, where the key factor for calculations is the age of the forest stands. This method is fully suited to the management of forests with a simple structure based on age differentiation. With regard to the current condition of the forests in the Czech Republic and the history of their cultivation, the age class method is used for almost all of the forests in the country. The system of age classes also dominates the current legislation on forestry and its implementing decrees.
